Course Overview

This beginner carpentry and joinery course introduces the core practical skills used in woodworking, timber preparation, hand tool use, and simple joint construction.

Over ten weeks, participants will learn how to safely use core hand tools while completing a series of guided practical exercises designed to build confidence and accuracy.

Participants will develop foundational carpentry techniques, including measuring and marking out timber, cutting basic woodworking joints and assembling simple components.

By the end of the course, learners will have completed several practical woodworking exercises and a small finished project, while gaining the core skills, knowledge, and confidence needed to progress to more advanced carpentry training such as the Fundamentals of Carpentry course.
