Course Overview

In this practical one-day workshop at Hereford Woodcraft Academy, participants will build a simple and elegant wooden side table from either oak or softwood. With step-by-step guidance from an experienced instructor, you will learn how to measure, cut, assemble, and finish timber to create a useful and attractive piece of furniture.

The finished table features a solid timber tabletop supported by four legs and a sturdy frame. Participants will prepare the timber components, assemble the table accurately, and sand and finish the surfaces to produce a strong and durable table suitable for use beside a sofa, chair, or bed.

By the end of the day you will leave with a completed handmade side table, along with practical woodworking skills, greater confidence using tools, and the knowledge needed to continue exploring woodworking projects at home.

£125 – Softwood option

£165 – Oak option
A premium hardwood offering greater durability, weight, and a beautiful natural grain for a high-quality finished appearance.

Both options result in the same finished design. The difference is in feel, weight, appearance, and longevity.
